User Management

To manage the users of the eScreenz dashboard, click on the “Users” link in the menu.  From there you will see a list of your current dashboard users.

To add new users, click the “Add New User” button in the upper right corner.  You can edit existing users and reset their passwords by clicking the “Edit” button for that user.

Create Users

  1. User Name (required) – The user name of the user to create.  This must be unique.
  2. Email (required) – The email address of the user.  This must be unique.  Users may log in either via their username or their email address.
  3. Password – Have eScreenz generate a password for the user automatically, or specify one for them manually.
  4. Phone Number – Optional phone number for the user; for reference only.
  5. Name – Friendly display name of the user.  If not specified, “User Name” will be used instead.
  6. Options
    1. Send Welcome Email – If checked, an email with the user’s log in credentials will be sent to the user upon user creation.  Note that this cannot be unchecked if a user’s password is generated automatically by eScreenz.
    2. User Must Change Password on Next Login – If checked, the user will be forced to change the password before they can work with eScreenz.  It is best practice to check this box any time you change the user’s password.
  7. Roles – Roles define the access level of the user within the eScreenz dashboard.  There are a few roles set up by default within the dashboard, but more can be created to suit your needs (see “Role Management” for details).
    1. Admin – Full access to the dashboard, including user management, urgent notifications, etc.
    2. Global Publisher – Can create and publish slides for all apps within the system.

Password Reset

Users can reset their password in two ways:

  1. Self-Service Password Reset - The preferred way for users to reset passwords is by using the self-service password reset feature of eScreenz™.  On the login screen, click the “Forgot Password?” link.  From there, fill in your email address.  A link will be sent to you to reset your password.

  2. Administrative Password Reset - Administrative users can reset the password for any user in the system by going to the “Edit User” page for that user and clicking the “Change Password” button.  With this approach we recommend that you also click the “User Must Change Password at Next Login” button to allow the user to choose their own password after their password has been reset.
